Bollywood megastar Salman Khan is set to return to Koffee With Karan as the first guest of its ninth and last season. The recently released promo of Khan’s episode with filmmaker-host Karan Johar has left fans thrilled, as the popular celebrity chat show is set to wrap up its journey.
The promo was released on 13 October 2026, ahead of the season’s premiere on 14 October on JioHotstar. Since Salman will be starting the chapter of the show, the makers are reintroducing a familiar face known for his blunt comments, comic timing, and the iconic appearance on the show.
The promotional clip features the two celebrities exchanging playful remarks on the show’s familiar couch. Salman announces his return, while Karan reminds him that the upcoming season will be the show’s last.
Salman joked, “Karan, you are not ending the programme just to get celebrities come on board for one last time, are you? Karan, who is fighting back tears, tried to convince Salman that the show is ending. But Salman asked him not to go just yet.
The dialogue sets the flavour for the next episode, a mix of nostalgia and innuendos, which has made Koffee With Karan so popular.
Another promo has resurrected a question from Salman’s earlier episodes you might remember. In this promo, Karan asks Salman that he’s still a virgin, just like in the earlier episodes that they had aired.
“Control yaar brother, ” Salman says offhandedly, shrugging, and keeping it playful. This scene hints at how, in a season when the show is saying goodbye to the set, it is bringing back old moments with new characters and new gags.
He also assumes the role of host in the video for a brief period of time where he makes a joke about a potential show titled Koffee With Salman.
Koffee With Karan debuted in 2004 and went on to become an entertainment staple in India. In its eight completed seasons, the show provided viewers an insight into the lives, work, and controversies of stars, filmmakers, and other public figures.
Its conversational format frequently produced viral moments and headlines, helping shape celebrity discussions beyond the show itself. Karan Johar has confirmed that Season 9 will be the final edition, bringing the programme to a close after more than two decades.
This decision signifies the conclusion of a format that pioneered celebrity chat shows centered on candid interviews, fast-paced questioning, and star disclosures. During its final season, the series will reflect on its history while also opening up dialogue with its guests.
The ninth season of Koffee With Karan is scheduled to premiere on October 14 2026 at 7 PM IST on JioHotstar. Salman Khan will lead the opening episode, appearing solo rather than alongside family members as he did during one of his earlier visits.
The rest of the guest list has not been revealed yet, and fans will have to wait to find out, which other celebrities will be seen on the show in its last few episodes.
